“I was so excited
when I discovered this product. I think it is the most revolutionary
building material our industry has ever seen. It's so lightweight
and easy to use that I can build and cover treatments in half
the time!
My one real question
when I first saw the product was ‘Will it hold staples?’
After working with FirmaFlex, I can tell you the answer is definitely
YES!”

“There are so many
things I like about FirmaFlex, it’s hard to know where to
begin. First, since I’m a jill of all trades, FirmaFlex
allows me and my employees to cut cornices ourselves, right on
the workroom table! I no longer have to wait on my husband to
handle and cut the heavy plywood sheets. Since there’s no
sawdust, I can cut right on the workroom table. I let it hang
over the edge and clamp it to cut. Now I don’t need an additional
space to cut vs. fabricate, and I don’t have to sweep up
before we start fabricating.
FirmaFlex saves so much
time, and that means money! It’s faster to fabricate with,
and easy to install since it’s so lightweight. Even on very
large cornices, it can be a single person install. That outweighs
the initial cost of the product because I’m working more
quickly, and paying one installer instead of two. After completing
an entire project, I felt like I came out about even with the
cost of wood, but the added joy of working with FirmaFlex pushed
it over the edge for me.
We converted a wooden
coffee table into an ottoman, using FirmaFlex, to solve the client’s
problem of toddlers falling into the hard coffee table. We built
a FirmaFlex box, with the bottom open to keep the legs exposed,
making it look like an 8 inch tufted cushion. Firmaflex doesn’t
scratch the original wood top if they wanted to remove it one
day.
I also found that I
can jam a tufting needle through FirmaFlex for tufted buttons,
so you don’t have to drill like with wood. I can use shade
cord and tie it through the FirmaFlex for button tufting.”

“After we tried
FirmaFlex for the first time, we completely stopped using any
plywood. The only wood that we use in our cornices now is the
1 x 4s or 1 x 6s. It’s just been wonderful using FirmaFlex.
It makes installation so much easier because of the lightweight.
It goes up and installs twice as fast. You can hold an 8 foot
or 10 foot cornice by yourself. Nobody can tell the difference
in the look, and price hasn’t been an issue at all, because
of the ease of installation.
We just completed a
hinged application, about 23 feet long, using FirmaFlex. It was
a flat cornice with a swag overlaid. We flexed it for shipping,
and could never have done that with wood. If we’d done it
with wood, it would have busted the screws.
A workroom should go
ahead and fabricate something out of both FirmaFlex and wood and
you’ll see the difference! ”

“This is a phenomenal
product! I’m usually very critical and give my honest opinion
of new products, and I just absolutely love FirmaFlex! I’m
telling workrooms to get ready to change the way they work!
We’ve been especially
impressed when we’ve tried FirmaFlex for projects where
wood was difficult , such as for curved windows that would require
curfing of wood. FirmaFlex just flexes into the shape we need,
no curfing! In fact, we are using it to do a 30 foot long curved
window in a celebrity’s home here in California. It's a
famous ice skater. FirmaFlex is so lightweight, the installation
is going to be really easy. I'm just blown away by this product!”

“I was curious
if you could splice FirmaFlex dead center of an arch and still
have it hold. So I tried it, and it worked great. I thought I
might have to splice toward the ends, leaving an unspliced section
right in the center where the most severe curve is. But that wasn't
necessary at all. Spliced pieces of FirmaFlex worked great right
in the center of the arch.”

“I saw this in
Sew What magazine and thought it sounded great, so I ordered some
for the six cornices I needed to build. After trying it, I was
so impressed! What impressed me, in doing long cornices, was that
I spliced them easily with no bending or wobbling at all. Nothing
split, which I liked. Some of my fabric wasn’t straight
and I was able to reposition it without ruining the fabric. I
was able to do six cornices in a day and a half!
I was concerned about
the freight at first, but I just passed the freight cost through
to the designer and she didn’t blink an eye. When my installer
hung it, he could not believe how light it was. Normally I help
the installer but he didn’t need me this time because it
was so light. It really looks good.
I’ve already placed
a second order! I’m going to do bay windows with it. The
time you save lets you get on to the next project earlier, so
you really save money. My motto is work smarter, not harder, and
FirmaFlex helps me do this.”

“Our workroom tried
FirmaFlex and really loved how easy it was to work with, and how
lightweight it was. In fact, I’ve been so impressed with
the product, I’m planning to feature it in all three of
the seminars I’m teaching at the Baltimore show in April.
In the cornice class, I’ll probably build a small cornice
out of FirmaFlex. In the bay window class, I plan to hand out
small samples so the class can see how it creates its own hinge
by slicing part way through the material. When used this way,
you no longer need hardware hinges for bay windows! And in my
workroom techniques class, we’ll have some small samples
that the class can cover. This is an exciting new product!”
